Her experience, her talent, her eye for nuance and detail, combined with a calm and confident working style, produced photographs that are not only beautiful to look at but manage to reveal the emotions behind each glance and smile and tear. She understood my vision for a “vintage country farm” wedding perfectly. She noticed every detail that I worked so hard to make a reality and captured each one beautifully for all time. She took the inevitable tensions and confusions of the preparations in stride and, at times, her composure and professionalism were what allowed the wedding party to relax and let the day’s events unfold. Affable and enthusiastic, she got along with both our families so well that she seemed like part of the family and no one wanted her to leave when her work was done. It was so important for me that our wedding photos capture something true about our story, that the photos be more than just documentation of my dress or bouquet or a pretty church. Bonnie has a poetic perspective that shows in her work, she creates images that are nostalgic. I look at photos of Kevin and I and immediately find myself back on that day, in the middle of a laugh I didn't think anyone saw. She has given us something more than just photography. She captured our story as it unfolded. the groom's story: As a great example, my brother-in-law said in a phone conversation about a week after the wedding “I can’t wait to see those pictures; you could just tell that Bonnie was right there in the action, and working multiple angles to get the best shot possible.” Low and behold, we were very pleased with the results of her hard work! T I M A N D J I L L I A N Feburary 17, 2007 / San Franciso, California When you hire Bonnie you are not only getting gorgeous photos of your wedding, you are getting photos taken by a true artist. You will find that they are the most treasured, the most real, the most authentic captured moments. Just look at her website and blog to see for yourself. She photographed my wedding in San Francisco in February 2007 and we were so happy with the results. It was a tough shoot too, with an evening indoors dark setting and very little structure to wrestle families for photos. Bonnie was very creative, very fast, very unobtrusive, and thoughtful. I highly recommend her. PORTRAITS If you are looking for a photographer to capture who you truly are as a family, look no further. I’d never had a photographer shoot pictures of our family and I honestly wasn’t sure how well it would work, given how shy my oldest son, Liam, was at the time. The thought of having someone he’d never met come to our house and start taking pictures of him seemed like it had the potential to go wrong in a number of ways. But from the minute Bonnie walked in the front door, she put everyone of us at ease. Having her there seemed like having an old friend come visit. Within minutes – honestly, minutes!!! – Liam was completely comfortable – even hamming it up at times - and the proof is in the pictures. Bonnie’s photographs captured each of us as we truly are, in our everyday moments, the ones I’m already nostalgic for at times: reading books in bed with our kids, playing music together, hanging out in the backyard, rolling around on the living room floor, hugging our boys tight. Bonnie’s photographs completely stunned me – the colors, the angles, the emotions – it’s all there. And I know it’s something our whole family will treasure for a lifetime. We have had Bonnie photograph our family two times, and each time she has brought a level of fun, creativity and generosity to the sessions that we have never felt like we were even having our photos taken.
